Personal batting helmets are compulsory in accordance with Baseball Ontario & Softball Ontario policies. Zurich Minor Baseball enforces the rule that players are not allowed on the field without a helmet and a chinstrap; mandatory for batters, base runners, catchers and on deck batters. Additionally, all softball players must wear an approved protective cage/facemask.

Key Registration Information:

·    Payment by e-transfer is expected within 14 days of registration. Send to [email protected]. Payments will auto deposit so no password is needed, but you MUST include the player name and division for it to be credited properly.

·    Cheques to be made out to ZMAA or Zurich Minor Athletic Association. Payment by cheque can be handed in at the beginning of indoor practices (April 2025).

·    Volunteer Bond Cheques of $150 per family are required for registration. Your cheque should be addressed to the Zurich Minor Athletic Association, postdated for September 1, 2025, and handed in to the ZMAA Executive team at the beginning of indoor practices in April. 

PART 4: Equipment & Uniform

T-Ball players do not have a uniform requirement with the exception that open toed shoes are NOT permitted. T-Ball players will be given a t-shirt which they can keep. Zurich Thunder Hardball uniform consists of grey baseball pants, red belt and red socks. Zurich Thunder Fastball uniform consists of black baseball pants, red belt and red socks. Jerseys will be collected and returned at the end of season for future use.

DUAL REGISTRATION:

By completing this form, you are registering with both Zurich Minor Ball and Baseball Ontario.

Baseball Ontario appoints Zurich Minor Ball to collect fees on its behalf, included in the registration fee collected through this process. No additional monies is charged to the parent registering locally. Baseball Ontario invoices Zurich Minor Ball for fees collected.


LIABILITY WAIVER:

On behalf of myself and the player being registered, I recognize that baseball entails serious risks. Consequently, except as noted below, I and the player being registered relinquish all rights to a claim of any kind, including the right to a claim for bodily and material damages, regardless of the cause, against Baseball Ontario, its member associations, including Zurich Minor Ball and their respective officers, employees, coaches, umpires, assignees, agents, representatives, and sponsors, even if such damages result from negligence of Baseball Ontario, its member associations, including Zurich Minor Ball and their respective officers, employees, coaches, umpires, assignees, agents, representatives, and sponsors.

Without restricting the generality of the preceding, I and the player being registered also relinquish the right to any claim against Baseball Ontario, its member associations, including Zurich Minor Ball and their respective officers, employees, coaches, umpires, assignees, agents, representatives, and sponsors resulting from a decision on their part, regardless of the nature of this decision.

This release of Baseball Ontario, Zurich Minor Ball and the other persons noted above does not preclude myself or the player being registered from making a claim under any sports accident coverage provided by Baseball Ontario and/or Zurich Minor Ball to their players.

REFUND POLICY:

Zurich Minor Ball Player Registration Refund Policy:
*Please note this refund policy is for U7 and above. 

Notification of player withdrawal from program and requests for refund must be provided in writing to [email protected]

$25.00 administration fee is non refundable.

Full refund given before April 25th, 2025.

50% refund will be given April 25th - May 31, 2025.

No refund given after June 1st, 2025.

* Please note: Tee ball registrants are entitled to a full refund (including the administrative fee).

CONSENT TO USE OF IMAGE AND LIKENESS


I acknowledge that ZMAA may take photographs and/or video recordings of me while I am participating in ZMAA activities. I hereby grant ZMAA express permission to use my name, likeness, image, voice and/or appearance, as such may be embodied in any photographs, video recordings, digital images, and similar media, taken or made by ZMAA. I agree that ZMAA shall have complete ownership of such media, including all copyrights, and may use same for promotional purposes, including on websites or social media accounts maintained by the ZMAA and on physical advertising or informational materials, such as brochures, pamphlets, and articles. I acknowledge that I will not receive any compensation for the use of such media and hereby release ZMAA from all claims which arise out of or are in any way connected with such use.

ROWAN'S LAW:

Under Rowan's Law, before any player can be registered with the local association and Baseball Ontario, the player, and the parent or legal guardian of the player if the player is under 18 years of age, must review one of the Concussion Education Resources provided by the Province of Ontario and must review the Player Code of Conduct. Rowan's Law Acknowledgement:

I hereby confirm that the player being registered to participate in baseball activities with the local association and Baseball Ontario, and the parent or legal guardian of the player being registered if the player is under 18 years of age, have reviewed one of the concussion education resources provided by the Province of Ontario as referenced above and have reviewed the player code of conduct as referenced above. I / we further acknowledge understanding the nature and risk of concussion and head injury to athletes, including the risks of continuing to play after a concussion or head injury is suspected.

By registering with Zurich Minor Athelic Association, you agree to the following conditions of registration.

ZMAA WAIVER

I, the applicant, certify the information on the registration form to be true and consent to the Player participating in the baseball program of Zurich Minor Athletic Association (hereafter noted as ZMAA). I further agree to abide by and be subject to the consitution, by-laws, regulations, rules, and decisions of ZMAA, Ontario Baseball Association and Baseball Canada.

PART 6B: SIGNATURE FOR COMPLIANCE OF WAIVERS & FORMS FOR MINORS

By signing this form, you acknowledge that you have received, reviewed and agree with the terms of Baseball Ontario’s Privacy Assurance and Privacy Policy, dual registration with both Baseball Ontario and Zurich Minor Baseball whose registration form is part of this registration document, injury waiver and consent to collection, use or disclosure of your personal information for the purposes and in the manner described herein.
